R&D Scientist
Job Description Insight Global, in partnership with a prominent research institution in Illinois, is seeking a highly motivated individual to conduct research to advance clean energy technologies. This position will provide technical support for scientific research projects and involve hands-on experiment design, execution, analysis, and interpretation. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team of researchers to design innovative separation materials and processes. The successful candidate will be able to work safely and independently in a laboratory setting, plan and execute research, and effectively communicate scientific results. Responsibilities: Set up and operate bench-scale membrane separation device Prepare and characterize the composition of liquid samples Conduct nanofiltration and reverse osmosis experiments Troubleshoot and refine experimental protocols Document experimental procedures, data, and results Perform scientific literature review Maintain clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements Bachelors degree in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, chemistry, or related field 2+ years of hands-on laboratory experience Understanding of good laboratory safety practices Knowledge and experience with chromatography, microscopy, or spectroscopy techniques Skill to exercise independent judgment and take initiative Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills Advanced degree Knowledge or hands on experience operating nanofiltration/reverse osmosis devices Knowledge and experience with chromatography techniques are desirable Experience in designing, operating, and scaling chemical separations processes null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
