We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientist with a strong background in molecular biology and biochemistry to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving innovative research projects, developing cutting-edge solutions, and advancing our scientific and technological capabilities. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a collaborative and innovative team pushing the boundaries of Diagnostic Platform Technologies, working on impactful projects aimed at improving health, technology, or sustainability.
This is a fully onsite position in San Diego, CA.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Lead the design, execution, and analysis of complex experiments in molecular biology and biochemistry to address key research objectives
+ Evaluate and Develop Technologies for their use in molecular diagnostic assays, based on PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR, Sanger and NGS sequencing, and other nucleic acid-based techniques
+ Familiar with Emerging technologies including Methylation Detection Methods (microarray, sequencing, PCR), CRISPR, Spatial Biology
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to advance project goals and identify new opportunities
+ Mentor and supervise junior scientists and research associates, providing technical guidance and fostering professional growth
+ Stay abreast of advancements in molecular biology, biochemistry, and related fields to incorporate innovative approaches into ongoing projects
+ Prepare and present scientific findings through detailed reports, peer-reviewed publications, and presentations at conferences
+ Support patent processes by contributing scientific expertise and technical data.
**Required Education and Experience:**
+ Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant postdoctoral and industry experience.
+ Extensive hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques related to detection and analysis of nucleic acids (PCR, Microarrays, Sequencing)
+ Demonstrated success in leading independent research projects and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
+ Proficiency in bioinformatics tools, data analysis software, and statistical methods (JMP)
+ Understanding of the biochemistry of nucleic acids interactions entailed in oligo design for PCR
+ Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to think critically and creatively.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of publications and presentations.
+ Experience in project management and team leadership is highly desirable.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Familiarity with next-generation sequencing (NGS) and its applications in research.
+ Familiarity with oligo design software for PCR, RT-PC
The annualized base salary range for this role is $95,000 to $149,900 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs, and market demand.
