Your role and responsibilities
As a senior R&D engineer at ABB Robotics, you will develop electronics, firmware, and safety-critical systems for our advanced robot controllers. Your role will involve engaging in various assignments such as process improvement, maintenance, reviewing PCB layouts, and supporting software teams. Collaboration will be key as you work extensively with other ABB sites to leverage diverse expertise and drive innovation. You will familiarize yourself with embedded development and gain understanding in this area. Additionally, you will conduct safety analysis, design, and documentation to ensure our systems meet the highest standards. Performing rigorous testing on both electronics and systems will be essential to guarantee reliability and performance. If you have knowledge of Linux, VHDL, and Xilinx, you can utilize this to support your work, though it is not a requirement. Throughout your work, you will embrace ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
Qualifications for the roleAn engineer with experience in electronics development (power, digital, analog, SoC Firmware and/or similar).Preferably, some experience in functional safety for electronics modules and systems.An analytical mind with the ability to make sound decisions.A positive, humble, self-driven, and result-oriented individual with excellent collaboration skills.A Master’s degree in Engineering within Electronics, Robotics, Dependable Systems, Computer Science or a similar field is preferred.Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Knowledge of Swedish is considered an advantage
