Research and Development Specialist II
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, R&D Specialist II, are:
Deliver daily and weekly plant genotyping targets;Has primary or shared responsibility for a specialized laboratory technology;Accountable for cross-functional work in multiple platforms/process areas;Solve problems of routine to moderate scope; optimizes workflows and validates methods using multiple data sources;Use specialized scientific techniques to conducting experiments and process improvements;Adhere to established protocols and techniques;May operate and troubleshoot instrumentation;Solve routine problems requiring original thinking and deductive reasoning of diverse procedures within specialized laboratory technology;Prioritize and coordinate work within a large team and provide training to contingent workforce;Maintain detailed record keeping and required documentation;Achieve commitment to safety and ahere to safety protocols and best practices;Perform a variety of experiments with accuracy;Skilled in organizing and reporting specialized reports, including analyzing and interpreting the results of experiments, production KPIs, cost/benefit analysis, and lab related issues to partners and key stakeholders;The successful candidate will thrive on meeting challenges, insist on high-quality deliverables, demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, and will have proven initiative in some categories of accomplishments, eighter individually or as part of a group;Take initiative keeping current with developments in specialized area.
Required Qualifications:
BS in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering with 2 years of related experience in academia or industry, or MS in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field with minimal experience, or non-degreed with 10 years of relevant experience;Strong Molecular Biology acumen with the ability to independently design experiments and analyze data;High throughput laboratory automation experience with mechanical aptitude for operating and troubleshooting automation;Proficiency with data analysis and visualization software;Ability to build strong relationships and networks across shifts, sub teams, and sites;High level of agility to support multiple extraction workflows within PG and outside partners.Ability to to work 2nd shift (2pm-12am, Monday-Thursday)
