R&D Sr. Technician
Overview The R&D Sr. Technician performs analysis on our PepsiCo snacks. In this role, the R&D Sr. Technician may also conduct chemical and/ or physical lab analyses to determine the composition and properties of snacks, raw materials, and/ or ingredients. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting the instrument, repair of the instrument and assisting method development while performing testing on daily requests from the Plano Product Development Team. Coordinate analysis of large amounts of samples and develop a systematic approach to get samples analyzed in a timely manner. This position is located at our Plano Global R&D facility and is part of the Measurement Sciences Core Lab team. Responsibilities Perform laboratory chemical and/or physical analyses following standard operating procedures. Calculate and report results. Process submitted samples into forms ready for analysis, such as compositing samples and/or prepping samples for analysis. Prepare and maintain chemicals, chemical solutions, sample dilutions, and equipment as needed for the performance of analyses. Document all data in appropriate online system and communicate results in an accurate and timely manner. Follow all appropriate safety procedures as well as other lab policies. Support manager with other projects and tasks. Compensation and Benefit Details: The expected compensation range for this position is between $50,600 - $75,950. Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process. Qualifications Associate’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Food Science, or related discipline or 3+ years’ experience in a laboratory environment Attention to detail while conducting all testing and maintenance procedures Maintain instruments and all chemicals associated with analyses in area of responsibility. Ability to work independently. Demonstrated ability to learn and share new techniques and adapt to new ways of working Familiar with understanding and following all GLP and lab safety procedures Good understanding of hazardous chemicals and comfort with normal hazards associated with laboratory work Intellectual Curiosity Problem solving Highly Organized Familiar with al Microsoft Office Suite Ability to interpret data generated from testing.
