Utilize small hand tools, calibrated instruments, measuring equipment, microscopes and test fixtures. Work with R&D peers and engineers to accomplish goals as well as Production peers, trainer, group lead, and supervisors. Maintain accurate documentation records related to quality, work in progress, test results, and special projects. Adhere to and support general safety rules, manufacturing procedures, company policies and procedures, QSR and FDA regulations. Maintain clean room integrity by using proper attire and adherence to clean room environment practices and procedures. **What You’ll Work On** + Reports to the R&D engineer and is responsible for hand sewing tissue heart valves in accordance with approved manufacturing and quality inspection procedures + Is responsible for ensuring the tissue and all compliant valve materials used in end product successfully meet all planning based on design, testing, verification, validation for new and existing products, and support of team members + Responsible for reporting results to the management team, team members, and any investigative auditors regarding issues that could impact quality, efficacy, or safety of the product + Must work well in a team environment and be able to assess the work and environment for improvement possibilities + Sustained concentration and high-sensory coordination is required to utilize small hand tools, calibrated instruments, measuring equipment, microscopes, and test fixtures + Work tasks have a high level of complexity + Working environment (clean room) requires strict adherence to protective equipment, such as cleanroom gowns, masks, gloves, head, and shoe coverings + Will work with animal tissue (porcine and/or bovine) and various chemicals + Must be flexible based on the needs of the business + Will assist R&D engineers with R&D production and testing needs + Will assist Production trainers and actively train new Tissue Valve Specialists with new manufacturing procedures and inspections + Will actively participate in safety and continuous improvement (CI) projects + Has ability exceed target time/yield expectations + Complete an Abbott-Sponsored Course determined by Supervisor **Shift** 1st Shift Monday – Friday, Flexible start times, beginning as early as 5:30 am. 8 hours per day, a total of 40 hours weekly. **Required Qualifications** + High School Diploma / GED + Minimum 4 years + Related experience with tissue valve background + Attain additional certifications internally based on the Manufacturing Process + Ability to work with very small, detailed work; use of microscope; sewing * Participants who complete a short wellness assessment qualify for FREE coverage in our HIP PPO medical plan.
