Job Description
The Engineering Technician has a primary responsibility of ensuring the safe and efficient operation of decarbonization equipment. This equipment is currently in a pilot phase, and the Engineering Technician will be part of the team commissioning, operating, maintaining, and participating in the continuous improvement of the equipment. They will manually work with the mechanical components of the equipment and participate in process improvements and enhancements based on their work.
ResponsibilitiesInteract professionally with clients as the pilot equipment is deployed on customer sites.Work in an industrial environment, outdoors, and be hands-on 'turning a wrench'.Communicate issues to other members of the engineering team for necessary adjustments and fixes.Document field modifications and changes to any pilot equipment and submit to the sustaining engineering team.Perform preventative maintenance checks and dashboard monitoring for issues following the full install and start-up of the equipment.Perform equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.Log and document equipment hours, performed maintenance, and material use.Essential SkillsDemonstrated experience working with mechanical components of industrial machinery.Experience with chemical and/or industrial processes.Proficiency in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and process improvement.Understanding and experience with pneumatics.Ability to follow, write, and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Experience interpreting data from dashboards and machinery to determine if processes are performing optimally and address any issues.Strong experience in a safety-first environment, with an understanding of hazardous and flammable conditions.Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years of experience operating and maintaining equipment, preferably in the chemical process field.High mechanical aptitude and proficiency with industrial machinery/equipment.Client-facing communication experience.Forklift certification is highly preferred.Work Environment
The work environment is primarily onsite at the client location, with approximately 80% of the time spent outdoors. Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) includes a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and flame-resistant clothing, all of which are provided by the company. The role involves working in a hazardous and flammable environment, emphasizing the need for safety-first practices.
