R&D Technician

Job Description

The R&D Technician will assist in the development of new and improved products and packages. This individual is responsible for providing technical support and project work in laboratory, pilot plant, and plant environments, while supporting, implementing, and maintaining food safety practices.

ResponsibilitiesParticipate in developing, scaling up, and producing new/improved products and packages.Operate lab equipment accurately and comply with food safety and manufacturing policies.Compile, analyze, and summarize data into reports.Safely obtain and handle samples from production locations for analysis, ensuring compliance with GMPs.Assist in plant and pilot plant tests, packaging projects, and production trials, including sample preparation and participation in experiments.Obtain samples and technical information, including product/package measurements, processing data, and quality measures.Perform studies in lab and production environments safely and hygienically.Conduct routine and non-routine evaluations of products, including chemical, physical, and sensory testing.Serve as a technical resource for other departments, including Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Sales and Marketing.Maintain complete records of procedures, observations, and results.Perform additional tasks as assigned.Additional Skills & QualificationsBA/BS in Food Science or related field1+ year of food product development/formulation experience (academic or industry projects)Exposure to pilot plant or food plant environmentPay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00
