Laboratory Supervisor

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to set up and execute routine tests for different products in accordance with standard testing methodologies and requirements. Each day, you will perform your tasks or activities using skills and techniques as well as a practical understanding of concepts used in the field of technology. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring proper documentation of the test results.The work model for the role is: OnsiteThis role is contributing to the Electrification Installation Products division in Memphis, TN.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tSupporting the planning and implementation of test plans.•\tCoordinating maintenance activities related to the equipment and tools used in the laboratory.•\tIdentifying and suggesting solutions related to product non-conformities.•\tAssisting external certification inspectors during testing activities for ABB or external customer products.

Qualifications for the role

High School Diploma required (Associate degree preferred) and 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a comparable product engineering or test laboratory environment; Electrification industry preferred. Two years formal training in a technical, vocational, or certificate program will be considered in lieu of direct work experience if appropriate technical skills are demonstrated.Proactive with a high sense of urgency performing work assignments.Possess an understanding of electrical test equipment and how it works.Possess a mechanical aptitude with the ability to design tools and fixtures for mechanical testing of products.Ability to read, correctly interpret, and apply test requirements from international and domestic agency performance standards.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
