What’s the role

This role will provide analytical laboratory support to Onshore Gas Plant (OGP) and operate OGP laboratory in accordance with procedures and standards.

What you’ll be doing

The successful Lab Technician’s accountabilities will include:

Commissioning of new equipment in the lab and learn on how to use it.Sustain accreditation to ISO 17025.Manage HSSE risks in the laboratory and at site.Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and help to implement approved solutions.Execute structured sampling and testing.Responding to ever changing demands on short notice and to be able to work under pressure arising from operational uncertainties and project deadlines to be met.Managing activities in accordance with HSSE policies, quality standards and statutory regulations.

Lab Technical & Quality Operations

Perform sampling, site testing and laboratory analysis tasks as required.Sustain laboratory facilities ensure safety, continuous operation, and regulatory compliance.Sustain laboratory’s Quality Management System (QMS) according to ISO17025 requirement.Sustain and continually improve work processes through Continuous Improvement (CI) Way of Working.Together with Senior Process Chemist and OGP Lab Supervisor, implement and sustain SEAM EQP Process in OGP, ensuring our Products meet required specification and legislative requirements.Ensure provision of quality laboratory data critical for production system surveillance & optimization, regulatory reporting, project delivery, legal & commercial compliance etc.Conduct experiment and studies to investigate, study and improve production performance.

Plant Operations

Execute routine and non-routine sampling and site testing tasks.

What you bring

We are keen to explore candidates who have the following:

Minimum STPM/Diploma or equivalent qualification, with credit in Chemistry and Mathematics at SPM level.Minimum 2 years’ experience as a lab technician in the oil and gas industry.Hands-on experience in performing variety of hydrocarbon, water, and gas test methods.Good written and verbal skills of English.Knowledge in ISO 17025 standard.Knowledge in hydrocarbon liquid, water, and gas sampling techniques.Knowledge in online analyser verification.Knowledge in Product Stewardship and Product Quality Management.Awareness in Hydrocarbon and Water Quality Management.Experience in LIMS Sample Manager, LIMS superuser is an advantage.Work experience in a plant setup is an advantage.Ability to work on weekend and standby when required.
