In addition to highly competitive salaries, we offer a bonus program, 401(k) with company match, employee stock purchase program; comprehensive medical, dental and vision benefits, including a robust wellness program; paid time off for vacation, holidays, and sick days; and much more. **Salary starts at $41.20/hour** **PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION** Provides radiation protection services in support of plant operations and maintenance, in accordance with applicable regulations and standards. **PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES** + Conducts and evaluates radiation, airborne radioactivity and contamination surveys to determine the required radiation protection requirements and personnel stay time, and maintains required postings. + Monitors and controls personnel exposure to airborne radioactivity and radiation to maintain personnel exposure as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA). + Prescribes the required protective clothing and devices for all individual entries into controlled areas of the site. + Controls and reduces the quantities of radioactive materials by physical techniques and administrative procedures. + Operates, calibrates, repairs, and maintains equipment used to perform radiological surveys and respiratory test equipment. + Prepares radioactive material for disposal. + Performs duties of the Shift Radiation Protection Technician in accordance with the requirements of the REG Emergency Response Plan. + Ensures that controlled area material is surveyed in accordance with approved procedures prior to unrestricted release. + Installs and certifies shielding, ventilation, and radiological containment devices at work site. + Directs, performs or assists in the decontamination of personnel and equipment. 11. Assists in training of plant, Company, and supplemental personnel. + May be required to work overtime and shift work. 13. Frequent exposure to heat, noise, dirt and radiation. + Ability to pass the National Registry Radiation Protection Technologists Exam within 3 years of becoming a Radiation Protection Technician is a condition of continued employment. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** + Must meet ANSI requirements. + High School Diploma or GED + And ONE of the following: Associates degree or equivalent in Radiation Protection, Health Physics or related field OR + Over five (5) years of experience in the field of radiation control job coverage, radioactive waste management, and respiratory protection program implementation, or the equivalent combination of formal education/training and experience. + Meet the requirements of Company and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) psychological, drug, alcohol, and medical testing policies and/or regulations. + Successful completion of EEI Technicians test. + The ability to wear a respirator and work with a 20 pound weight on the back is required. Exceptions will be considered on an individual basis. + Ability to meet and maintain unescorted access requirements of a commercial nuclear power plant. + Must be available for on-call status. + Job requires rotating shift work including holiday and weekend work + Incumbents will be required to work outdoors in all conditions, climbing, working from ladders and platforms, exposure to heat, dirt, noise, and radiation. + Ability to serve on the Emergency Response Organizational when called. + Successful completion of Initial Training and/or Watch Station Qualifications + Regular and consistent attendance is essential to the performance of the position.
