We are in search of a Full Time CT/Rad Tech to join our team!
Position Overview:
The role is for an experienced Radiology Tech.It's a full-time position with night shifts, including on-call responsibilities.The Radiology Tech is responsible for performing various diagnostic radiographic procedures under the direction of a Board Certified Radiologist, ensuring compliance with Radiation Safety Procedures and ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.Responsibilities:
Perform radiographic procedures following departmental protocols established by Radiologists, with an understanding of preparation for general radiology.Introduce oneself to patients and their families, explain procedures, and document patient information.Educate patients before exams and provide post-procedure instructions.Demonstrate proficiency in using Carestream CR and Carestream PACS.Review and critique images before submitting them for interpretation, maintaining a film repeat rate of 5 percent or less.Use appropriate film markers and shielding/collimation techniques to minimize patient radiation exposure while monitoring personal radiation exposure.Maintain and clean radiographic equipment as needed.Transport mobile x-ray equipment to ER, patient rooms, and surgery areas.Ensure safe patient transportation using proper body mechanics and lifting techniques.Take patient vital signs when necessary.Follow policies and procedures related to patient restraints.Administer oxygen properly as needed.Perform venipuncture as applicable and maintain annual competency.Check BUN/Creatinine values as per departmental protocol.Recognize patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiate life support measures as appropriate.Identify and respond to contrast reactions effectively.Perform procedures considering the patient's age and development stage (neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).Initiate applicable Risk Identification Reports and report incomplete or incorrect examinations.Assist in orienting new employees and students.Schedule inpatient examinations to facilitate outpatient scheduled examinations.Organize patient care, set priorities, and implement physician's orders.Establish and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, other departments, and the Medical Staff.Perform other assigned duties as required.Qualifications:
An Associate’s Degree of Applied Science in Radiology is required.A current Texas Medical Board (TMB) General Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) license is required upon hire.American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography (R) is required within 12 months of hire.American Heart Association (AHA) approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire.A minimum of 3-5 years of radiology experience in an acute care hospital setting is required.Demonstrated knowledge of technical, diagnostic, and emergency procedures related to Diagnostic Radiology is necessary.The candidate must be available for on-call duties during after-hours, weekends, and holidays.What is Offered:
