The Radiologic Technologist II is responsible for operating equipment to obtain visual information for use in interpretation and diagnosis by physicians.

Special Instructions Float position, CT experience preferred, Ultrasound preferred, on call possibility Responsibilities

Assists Radiologists in special procedures.

 

Assists patient in preparation for examination and insures physical position for required exposure for all types of radiology.

 

Explain's radiology process and procedure to patient and obtains a consent for Diagnostic Procedures when applicable.

 

Performs and/or assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures while maintaining optimum patient safety.

 

Selects equipment for use in ultrasound setup according to specification of examination.

 

Identifies differences between healthy and pathological areas, and judges if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.

 

Photographs visual image of organs shown on display module to obtain Permanent record of internal examination.

 

Attaches identification tag to photographs or recorder printout to insure maintenance of records.

 

Discusses test results with supervisory or professional personnel to determine whether additional ultrasonic examinations are required.

 

Reports all problems in equipment to Director as appropriate.

 

Performs mammography exams according to FDA guidelines, if certified to do so.

 

Transports patient when required to and from floor and ER.

 

Prepares and/or administers contrast, oral and IV, opaque media or nuclear medicine.

 

Makes images, measures glandular activity, traces radioactive doses, and calculates the amount of radiation of the drugs as they pass through or locate in different parts of a patient's body.

 

Prepares stock solution of radioactive materials and calculates doses to be administered by the Radiologist/Technologist.

 

Performs CT scans and performs other related tasks as required.

 

Must rotate on-call duties as required.

 

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA approved school.

 

Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)          AND

 

Completion of training courses in Ultrasound Technology, Nuclear Medicine and CT scan where available.

 

Must maintain state licenses as required.
