Rad Tech- Special Procedures
Job Details:

*We have new rates!* *Sign on Bonus!* Are you a RadiologicTechnologist interested in learning special procedures? If so, we have an opportunity for you! We are looking for a radiology tech looking to expand their knowledge and grow with us as we continue to expand our cardiac catheterization lab services. Assists physicians in the diagnosis of cardiac, vascular and/or electro-physiological diseases by radiographic imaging of the patient's heart and/or vascular system during peripheral vascular, coronary arteriograms, cardiac catheterizations and/or electro-physiological studies. As a part of the patient care team, performs scrub procedures, monitors patient hemodynamics during procedures, assists in providing CPR during emergency situations and monitors radiation safety for physicians, patients, and staff.

Responsibilities:

Interacts professionally with patient and family. Provides patient with explanations and verbal reassurance as necessary. Adapts procedures to meet individual needs of adult and geriatric patients for treatment. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. Notifies appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain. Prepares room in a timely manner with all anticipated instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment for each individual procedure. Assists in positioning, prepping and draping of patients. Carries out medical/surgical asepsis during procedures. Maintains safe environment for patient, coworkers and self per facility policies and procedures. Checks all equipment/instruments needed prior to each procedure to ensure proper functioning. Respects patient’s confidentiality and right to privacy. Follows aseptic technique when opening sterile supplies and setting up procedures. Performs services requiring technical or manual skills under the direction of circulating RN. Always maintains an orderly and sterile instrument table for the purpose of efficiency; follows department standard set-up. Anticipates the needs of the physician. Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and after last case; restocks supplies. Prepares pressure monitoring manifold and monitors its functioning. Is responsible for care of instruments/equipment during intrapostoperative phase, including cleaning and processing of instruments. Keeps catheters and guide wires flushed and cleaned throughout the procedure. Performs any other duties as assigned. Requirements/Qualifications:

Education:

Graduate of an accredited school of radiological technology or invasive cardiovascular technology

Experience:

Minimum of one year's work experience; special procedure or cardiac cath lab experience preferrred

Training/License:

Cardiac or Vascular Intervention Certification preferred NY State Radiologic Technology License required

Other:

Current BLS and ACLS (within 6 months) certification required.
