Radar / Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

An Engineer IV serves as a technical advisor responsible for a broad program involving development, budgeting, scheduling, project management, and installation of systems.

Employee will be responsible for performing the following functions/duties:

Independently performs a range of design, development, analysis, or review tasks under generally established project deadlines Performs various radar-engineering tasks (Antenna Theory, Microwave Engineering, Signal Processing, Control Systems, Computer, Communications, etc.) with established deadlines, that are somewhat difficult in nature Completes design specifications, analyses, or design reviews for complex projects Generates complete design specifications for more complex projects Coordinates and works closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements Verifies and complies with engineering documentation standards and test procedures Prepares, delivers, and submits technical papers and performs engineering studies Supports development of technical proposals and provides comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work Develops, maintains, and produces technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications Directs interface with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities: acts as liaison for design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications Conducts site visits and experimental investigations and analyzes engineering problems, proposes solutions and alternatives, and provides recommendations Test integrated systems using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, logic analyzers, and other test equipment Performs other position-related duties and assignments as directed

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The incumbent will possess a technical understanding of Radar/ RF Engineering and control systems. Candidates with fewer years of experience will be considered.  

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and 8 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in engineering and a minimum of 6 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctorate degree in engineering and a minimum 4 years of related engineering experience are required for this position.

In addition, an Engineer IV must possess the following qualifications:

Comprehensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering to provide consultative services on development programs and in the design and development of systems and components Knowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in engineering to solve complex problems in the specialty area Working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools Well-developed leadership skills Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems from a broad prospective Excellent communication and analytical skills Planning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines.

SALARY

The expected salary range for this position is $85,624 to $120,054 annually.   Note: The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. JT4, LLC considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required.

Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
