Radar Systems Engineer
Job Title: Radar Systems EngineerJob Description We are seeking a Radar Systems Engineer to plan, oversee, and support multiple radar engineering tasks, including Control Systems, Microwave Engineering, Antenna Theory, Signal Processing, Communications, and Computer systems. The role involves researching, designing, developing, manufacturing, testing, installing, integrating, sustaining, operating, and maintaining diverse software, electronic, and/or mechanical equipment and systems. Responsibilities + Lead a development, sustainment, or operations and maintenance team on complex radar engineering assignments. + Generate complete design specifications, analyses, and design reviews for more complex projects. + Lead work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements. + Develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements, working with customers. + Analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs, and interface specifications. + Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements. + Prepare, deliver, and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies. + Support the development of technical proposals and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work. + Write and manage system and software requirements according to customer specifications. + Develop, maintain, and produce technical documentation and system specifications, conforming to company engineering standards and contract requirements. + Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures. + Research technology advances for potential application to company business needs, and make recommendations for technology investments. Essential Skills + Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance. + BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a similar field and 10+ years of related experience in radar system design, development, engineering, test, evaluation, and data analysis OR MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a similar field and 7+ years of related experience in radar system design, development, engineering, test, evaluation, and data analysis. + Experience/Expertise in traditional Systems Engineering processes, including requirements analysis, architecture development, trade studies, and risk management. + Experience in writing technical reports, creating technical drawings, requirements documentation, system developmental schedules, and performance specifications. + Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. + Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. + Strong written and oral communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with signal processing techniques in complex propagation environments. + Experience in conducting technical training and mentoring in a workplace environment. + Experience in performing analysis and algorithm development using MATLAB, C/C++, or Python. Work Environment The work environment includes an engineering environment with a small production team onsite. The primary work location is in Annapolis Junction, MD, with occasional travel to government customer sites for test and evaluation. Additionally, there will be a need to travel to Israel for a couple of weeks for product training. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $80.00/hr.
