Radar Technical Specialist
ATEC is looking for a Radar Technical Specialist to work on the Airport Surveillance Radar Model 9 (ASR-9) terminal radar system. The ASR-9 is a non-cooperative (primary) surveillance radar system that provides aircraft position and weather information to automation systems for air traffic controllers in terminal airspace. We are looking for a motivated and skilled Technical Specialist to join our engineering organization. This role is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of technical systems and a strong desire to grow their expertise. The Technical Specialist will support our engineering teams in maintaining and improving our technical processes and systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
+ Work under direct supervision and team environment.
+ Provides support in the Radar technologies and practices for the testing real time system composed of hardware, software, and firmware.
+ Support the development of kits that will be part of modifications to be sent to the field to include:
+ Program, Test and Ship printed circuit boards (PCB) boards with various configurations to support project efforts.
+ Building Kits and digital wiring assets as needed.
+ Order and prepare parts or kits for shipping, palletize.
+ Assist in Team efforts of Design, development, and testing modern solutions to incorporate into existing systems and equipment.
+ Review and perform installation procedures for system modifications and verification.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
+ Work collaboratively with a team or as an individual on each assigned project to meet deliveries and deliverables.
+ Track preparation and delivery status of required deliverables.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
+ Microsoft Office ? Excel, Word etc. and knowledge of personal computer, hardware/software.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Radar and test equipment knowledge a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
+ Must be Available to travel at short notice in order to provide 2nd level engineering support and/ or to do new installations to support the ASR-9 Sustainment efforts.
+ Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:
+ US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US
+ Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation
+ Has been living in the US for at least the past 3 years
EDUCATION/YEARS of EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
+ High School Diploma or GED required and three (3) years of related experience.
+ An Associate's Degree in a related field will be accepted in lieu of two (2) years of experience.
PAY RANGE:
+ $35,000k - $46,000
