At least 3-5 years of diversified, progressive oncology nursing experience in acute care and/or outpatient settings within the cancer care continuum.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Maintain current licensure and certificationsPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides caring, individual attention, compassion, and empathy to patients and their families in collaboration with the responsible Radiation OncologistAssesses patients’ needs and provides education, medical information related to labs, radiology reports, and radiation oncology treatment plans as neededEducate and initiate referrals to home care, palliative services and hospice. Supports ongoing education provided by the Radiation oncology PhysiciansProvides patient and family members with information and support, coordinating all aspects of careEnsures timely communications to both referring and primary care physicians, and involves primary care physician in the care plan, when appropriate.Monitors patients’ compliance with prescribed medications and treatment plan in conjunction with clinical staff in respective practices. Brings abnormal labs to the physicians attention.Participates in new patient consultations with the Physician to provide continuity of care and a treatment plan. Identifies and supports patients who may require a higher level of care, and alerts the appropriate oncology care teamMonitor, collect and report on quality and outcomes data on patients under treatment.Triages incoming telephone calls and provides symptom management and follow-up throughout continuum of carePerforms procedures in the CT such as IV Contrast injections, and urethograms.Assists with ordering clinical supplies, and maintaining inventory.Participates in and supports the planning, implementation and evaluation of the unit and departmental goals.Provides cross coverage when neededPerforms other duties as assignedAll roles must demonstrate GBMC Values

$78,403.65 - $130,546.00Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
