Radiation Therapist PRN

Delivers radiation treatments in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist  

Reports to:  Director - Radiation Oncology Services

Delivers radiation therapy treatments as prescribedDrag Edit DeleteEducates patients prior to treatment regarding technical aspect of their treatmentsDrag Edit DeleteSimulates patients according to the instructions of the Radiation Oncologist, recording information necessary for reproducibility of treatment technique.
Minimum Education
Graduate of a program in discipline to obtain required registry - Required
Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy - PreferredDrag Edit DeleteRequired Skills
Certifications:
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required within 90 days of hire, if not current upon hire.Drag Edit DeleteRequired Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Drag Edit DeleteRequired Skills
Licenses: Registered with the Association of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) and have the designation of Therapist (T), or must be a graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program and be board eligible for the ARRT Radiation Therapy exam. Exam must be successfully passed within 12 months from their date of employment. (Graduation from a Radiation Therapy program = board eligibility)Drag Edit DeleteMinimum Work Experience
One year experience as a Radiation Therapist - Preferred
