ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations. Delivers radiation therapy treatment to patients in accordance with physician's prescription. Reviews treatment parameters and patient treatment chart. Delivers prescribed daily treatment Documents daily treatment data in treatment chart. Verifies accuracy of treatment fields using portal imaging. Completes treatment preparation including simulation, immobilization, and block fabrication. Positions patient and equipment for treatment simulation. Assists physician with localization of individual fields. Records field parameters in treatment chart. Marks appropriate treatment fields on patient Inputs patient and field data into radiation therapy management system. Manufactures blocks in accordance with physician specification. Coordinates care of patients receiving radiation therapy treatments. Assures proper function of treatment equipment. Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned area. Serves as the patient advocate ensuring optimal patient care and patient satisfaction. Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.
