Serves onsite to collaboratively develop and implements radiation to treat patients in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. Specific duties include: checking patient information; preparing room and equipment; communicating with patient; transferring patient; performing radiation treatment; maintaining schedule; maintaining supplies; keeping records; and assisting with teaching.

 

Required Skills and Knowledge:

Located or willing to relocate to Waldorf, MD or surrounding areaClinical understanding of the processes in a medical and radiation oncology departmentExcellent interpersonal skills. Exemplary communication skills.Clinical experience in Radiation and Medical OncologyRegistered by the ARRT in Radiation TherapistCurrent State License (if applicable)Obtains and completes LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibilityMeets all requirements necessary to gain AOS client site access, unless prohibited by law. These requirements vary by client and may include, but are not limited to: Proof of valid identification (photo, driver’s license, SSN); Criminal background checks; Drug screens; Immunizations (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Influenza, Tetanus); Annual TB testing; Applicable healthcare trainingProficient in utilizing standard business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointAssociate’s and/or Bachelors Degree with equivalent experienceOne year (or more) of experience preferred but will consider new graduates
