The Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer will support the Space Force Contract in Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. In this position, you will perform engineering functions to design, develop, modify, integrate, and test new subsystems on mono-pulse tracking radars on the Western Test Range. This position will lead an engineering team with the technical aspects of projects and the supporting multi-disciplined project teams.\n

RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nDesign, develop, and execute new capabilities used by tracking radars.\nPerform complex system modeling, simulation, and analysis to provide the most appropriate technical solution.\nPlan, conduct, and assist the project manager in the execution of engineering projects.\nCoordinate the efforts of technical support personnel for assigned projects.\nAnalyze, develop, recommend, and implement approaches to meet customer requirements.\nServe as an interface for project information to internal management and the customers.\nProvide leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.\nProvide expertise to restore operational systems. \nOther duties as assigned. \n\n

REQUIRED:\n

\n\nThis position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information.\nMust have a bachelor's degree in the field of electrical engineering, or another STEM field.\nMust have 5+ YEARS relevant radar engineering experience to include:\n\nExperience working with RF to include local oscillators, doublers, mixers and attenuators.\nWorking knowledge of monopulse radar tracking systems and\/or shipboard radar systems a plus\nExperience working with high power tube and solid-state RF amplifiers.\nExperience with C-band pulsed Doppler tracking and wideband coherent imaging systems desired.\n\n\nAbility to read and create wire diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nGood human relations and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external support personnel and to provide guidance to less experienced engineers.\nFamiliar with legacy range radar types (AN\/FPQ-6, AN\/FPQ-14, AN\/FPS-16, etc.) desired.\nWorking knowledge of antennas and antenna tracking systems.\nExperience with digital interface design to include familiarization with interface modules, cable\/wire types and connector systems.\nExperience with hardware systems integration and testing.\nExperience providing inputs for engineering project proposals within defined time constraints.\nProficient in use of specialized test equipment including but not limited to VOMs, spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes.\nProficient in technical writing for development of technical reports, White Papers, and other technical support documentation.\nExperience with computer systems including single board (SBCs), servers, and workstations.\nFamiliarization with the Linux and Windows Operating systems.\nProficient CAD software.\n\n

STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS:\n\nMust have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.\nAll of Bastion's employees must be team players. \nAble to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.\nAble to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.\nMust have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented.\nMust be organized with good time management skills.\nGenerally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.\nWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). \nMay require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).\nRegular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.\nAbility to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.\n\n
