Summary
HII, Missions Technologies has a need for a Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer who will be responsible for planning, organizing and conducting independent technical projects in support of the analysis, design, development, and testing of radio frequency (RF) and/or microwave systems architecture, components, circuits, or products. This will include antenna design, both reflector and array systems, frequency synthesizers, transmitters and receivers.
Under limited supervision the RF Engineer will work directly with senior technical personnel and project managers in the planning and execution of technical activities on complex projects related to RF system and technical product development. Work is completed in a collaborative manner, employing existing guidelines and instructions, guidance from higher-level engineers, experience, and independent judgment to plan and accomplish task objectives. Assignments may require the development of improvements to current techniques and procedures.
Essential Job Responsibilities
+ Apply advanced technical concepts, techniques, and procedures to lead a project team in the development of RF technical products.
+ Identify and document project functional requirements.
+ Define and organize proposed projects into the tasks and activities needed to solve the problems being addressed.
+ Schedule work to meet completion dates and technical specifications.
+ Regularly provide technical guidance and oversight to junior technical staff.
+ Prepare and review input to technical reports, status reports, letters, technical memoranda, contract reports and formal briefings and may author or co-author technical reports.
+ Prepare and provide formal briefings to staff and project sponsors including leading technical discussions at project review sessions and in negotiations with the project sponsor.
+ Identify opportunities for follow-on tasking for current projects; develop related briefings, specific project proposals, and work through appropriate channels to schedule presentation of these briefings and proposals to prospective customers.
+ Provide input and support to larger intra-organizational proposal development efforts.
+ Comply with applicable quality and security procedures in the performance of duties.
+ Provide recommendations for improvements to existing quality control systems or applicable company procedures and guidelines.
+ Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
+ 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in engineering, physics or related discipline; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
+ Demonstrated command of engineering principles, methods, and techniques in area of expertise.
+ Effective customer and organizational level communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
+ Clearance: An active SECRET security clearance required.
Preferred Requirements
+ Advanced knowledge of relevant RF tools, test equipment (Eg Spectrum analyzer, Signal generators), and software.
Physical Requirements
+ May require working in an office, industrial, or laboratory environment.
+ Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
