Radio Technician
**Description** This is a Radio Technician in support of the Department of State (DoS) Vanguard 2.2.1 Program. The Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, integration, and maintenance of all two-way radio systems deployed by DoS’s GTC Radio Programs Branch, including domestic and overseas posts. **Description of Duties:** + Travels worldwide, including high-risk, danger, and war zone locations to perform system installations, maintenance, upgrades (both software and hardware), moves/adds/changes, repairs, surveys, de-installations, etc. + Participates in the research, identification, testing, and installation of systems, integration planning, and the development of performance measures. + Provides installation and maintenance support concerning the design, documentation, fabrication, wiring and actual installation of communication, computer equipment (to support office operations) and networking systems. + Assists with the engineering and installation of new equipment, or the removal and reinstallation of legacy equipment. + Provides operational support by operating communication equipment and networking systems at designated locations. + Performs daily complex troubleshooting and a full range of radio communications technician assignments. **Qualifications** **Required Education & Experience:** + College degree in Electronics/Communications field or equivalent working experience. + Minimum 3 years’ experience with working knowledge and understanding of two-way radio theory (RF) and communication system spanning multiple technology platforms. + Experience working in a customer-facing environment. + Ability to work independently and without direction to meet deadlines and deliverables. + Knowledge of the Department of State. **Required Clearance:** + US Citizenship. + Active Secret Security Clearance. **Desired Experience, Skills, Attributes:** + Working knowledge of GTC's methodologies regarding the support of all DoS’s Radio infrastructures.
