Radiologic Tech - OR Advanced Procedures / Full-time
+ $10,000.00 Sign on Bonus + Willing to train a Radiologic Technologist for this advanced modality + Newly increased pay rates. GENERAL SUMMARY: The Radiographer - OR Advanced Procedures works as a member of the Operating Room team of medical professionals. Under the direct supervision of a Surgeon or Interventional Radiologist, is responsible for assisting physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures by performing scrub or circulator functions. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of angiographic and supporting procedural equipment and supplies in the department. Procedures performed primarily in the operating room environment. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Explains examination procedure to patients and prepares patient for the examination. · Rotates through both the scrub (scrub-in and assist the physician) and circulator (operate the angiographic equipment, retrieve, and open sterile supplies, input billing, inventory management and other procedural documentation) roles. Prepares and sets up sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging equipment required for the procedure. · Supports Surgical team in the OR with all other imaging needs as defined by the OR leadership team (e.g., C-arm, O-Arm, other and portable imaging needs). Maintains appropriate competencies on portable equipment, fixed equipment, and use of the contrast injector. · Ability to perform all imaging procedures in an operating room setting including running of the power injector. · Participates in an on-call rotation to cover imaging needs for the operating room after hours, weekends and on holidays. · May assist with the training of new personnel, and/or students who are assigned to the department. · Reviews and confirms as necessary with Surgical team clinical protocols before preforming study. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: · High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. · Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to develop and maintain a wide variety of cooperative working relationships and conveys information clearly and consistently through verbal and written medium. · Analytical ability necessary to determine best method of providing requested test based on the specifics of each individual case. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: · Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS). · Must be registered in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). Requires advanced registry in Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI), or registry eligible for advanced certification in Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI). If registry eligible, registry must be obtained within 12 months of date of hire. Failure to obtain registry within the designated timeframe will result in termination of the Radiographer- OR Advanced Procedures position. · Must maintain the required hours of continued education.
