Radiologic Technologist Location: Republic, WA Duration: Fulltime Shift Information: Tuesday - Friday 0730-1800 Call Tuesday's and Wednesday's 1800-0730 Description: Job Summary Technologists perform procedures and examinations in the radiology department under the direction of Inland Imaging radiologists and other medical providers to produce radiographic studies which are used in medical diagnosis to locate injuries, foreign bodies, pathological conditions or lesions within the body. Follow District policies and procedures and well as federal and state regulations. Essential Duties And Responsibilites Review and evaluate x-ray information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes. Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff. Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan. Operate or oversee operation of radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Position and immobilize patient on examining table. Position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specification of examination. Rotates on call duties as assigned by the department manager Document all patient data, code and bill patient data Clean and adjust radiology equipment as needed Perform related duties as assigned by management. Professional Requirements Actively checks and responds to emails throughout the day. Completes all mandatory education within given timeframe. Maintains regulatory requirements. Reports to work on time and as scheduled. Wears identification while on duty; uses computerized punch time system correctly. Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community. Attends annual review and department in-services as scheduled. Attends at least 75% of staff meetings; reviews all monthly staff meeting minutes. Actively participates in the department’s quality improvement (QI) activities. Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices and the employee handbook. Communicates the mission, vision and values of the organization as well as the focus of the department. Meets dress code standards for the department; appearance is neat and clean. Job Knowledge & Qualifications Education and/or Work Experience Requirements Graduate from an Accredited Radiology Program Must be board certified ARRT(R), or board eligible Must be board certified within 6 months of hire. Certified by the State of Washington to practice and administer radiation. CT experience required. Other Skills & Abilities Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and/or schedule form.
