Reponsibilities:
1. Prepares radiological area, equipment, contrast materials and supplies, as needed for patients.
2. Prepares patient for x-ray, explains procedures, transfers patient to table, positions patient and assists patient
at end of procedures.
3. Follows prescribed techniques to administer general and specific x-rays. Adjusts equipment, determines
proper voltage, current and desired exposure time, arranges immobilization and support devices to obtain
position of patient, adjusts lead shield, and selects proper imaging techniques.
4. Develops images in accordance with photographic techniques.
5. Observes patient and machine during procedure and reports unusual occurrences and records patient’s
condition.
6. Maintains supplies, equipment and required records.
7. Transports and uses mobile x-ray equipment in patient care area as required.
8. Follows all proper radiation, patient, and employee safety protocols; adheres to all appropriate radiation
prevention, containment, and control measures.
9. Effectively uses electronic medical records (EMR) to document patient encounters and access pertinent
patient data and imaging results
Qualifications:
1. Valid license and current registration to practice Diagnostic Radiography as a Radiologic Technologist issued
by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH); and
2. One (1) year of Radiologic Technologist experience.
