Radiologic Technologist Clinic
Overview Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques. Administers x-radiation to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation. May be required to alternate shifts, weekends, holidays, and take call. May be asked to flex hours and overtime as necessary to provide quality patient care at assigned sites(s).Works as part of a multidisciplinary team, serving on committees and participating in projects as requested. Elkhorn Clinic, Elkhorn WI 40 Hours/2 Weeks Day Shift Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures. Depending on clinic assignment, may also perform patient reception, phlebotomy/specimen collection duties, rooming patients, and taking vital signs. Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available to the radiologist and provider. Prepares and positions patient for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety. Selects and operates imaging equipment, image capture devices and accessories to successfully perform procedures. Positions patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort. Immobilizes patient as required for examination. Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patient during procedures. Initiates basic life support when necessary. Determines radiographic technique and exposure factors. Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others. Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control. Uses radiology information systems (including PACS), completes all required records and reports, submits images and data for physician review and interpretation. Provides practical instruction for radiography students and other partners. Observes universal protocol, standard precautions and appropriate patient identifiers. Applies principles of patient safety during procedures, including assisting and transporting patients. Utilities appropriate scripting, barriers, and patient identifiers. Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology Certification/Licensure ARRT Radiography registration required IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required if working in Illinois WI-DSPS radiographer license required if working in Wisconsin Approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days of hire Special Physical Demands The Special Physical Demands are considered Essential Job Functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Equipment- moving (pushing and pulling) portable imaging equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
