Position Summary:
Performs radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology; a high degree of technical competency and with the ability to act with initiative and ingenuity with minimal supervision. Apply ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis in adult and/or pediatric radiology.
Duties:
Provide excellent patient care by educating and preparing patients for their procedure while utilizing effective communication.Ensure patient comfort and safety for the duration of their procedure.Obtain and document accurate patient medical history to assist radiologist’s interpretation.Demonstrate an understanding of ALARA guidelines by strictly adhering to the Imaging Department’s Radiation Safety policies and procedures.Position and instruct patient while utilizing protective shielding, immobilization, and supportive devices as required.Perform standard diagnostic radiographic procedures as required by physician’s order.Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures to include but not limited to fluoroscopy, C-arm in the Operating Room, digital and mobile imaging at applicable locations.Select proper exposure factors of radiographic equipment for each examination.Completion of exam in hospital information system.Cleaning and maintaining all imaging equipment.May also assist with mentoring and/or training students, new hires.Other duties as assigned - Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee partner for this job. Education:
Completion of a Radiologic Technology Associates degree program.
Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year Radiologic Technology experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
ARRT(R) certification required.South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA – Radiography) certification required.American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the TH Organizational Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the TH Organizational Development Office are approved by TH Organizational development on a case-by-case basis).Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Understand and utilize ALARA concepts and critical thinking, time management and effective communication.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 20 to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
