GENERAL SUMMARY
*
Provide diagnostic imaging services according to accepted standards and protocols and assure patient safety during procedures
*
FUNCTIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*
General Diagnostic Procedures:
* Performs all diagnostic procedures following policies and procedures established by the department, including the Fluoro and OR.
* Adjusts patient care based on age specific needs
* Uses all equipment properly and in a manner that minimizes hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients.
* Determines most suitable position and shields patient for optimum imaging and patient comfort. Follows ALARA principle staff and patients shielding.
* Explains procedures and responds to questions appropriately.
* Scans paperwork into PAC’s System.
* Maintains a working knowledge of PAC’s System.
* Demonstrates knowledge of CD Burning.
* Completes patient charges for each exam in a timely manner.
* Transports patients to and from the department.
* Maintains a clean and orderly environment and associated checklist.
* Able to note when order and inclination will not be correct.
* Keep dose as low as possible to acheive a diagnostic exam.

Administrative:
* Uses computer to access reports.
* Follows protocols for releasing of images.
* Assists with administrative responsibilities of the department to include scheduling appointments, answering the phone, etc.
* Performs all quality controls procedures daily as assigned and maintains appropriate logs.
* Participates in annual surveys and inspections
* Able to teach/aid students.

Graduate of an accredited school of radiology technology.

Registered/licensed with American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT).

Or equivalent in education and experience.
