Job Summary
The Radiologic Technologist (X-ray technologist, X-ray tech) is responsible for performing all radiology services and other basic nursing duties as assigned for the Greensburg location, but will also help cover the Latrobe and North Huntingdon locations. In addition, they ensure the well-being of patients and provide a positive, supportive environment while working in conjunction with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, front office and clinical staff. Job Requirements EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent, requiredGraduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program, required Work ExperienceExperience in a clinical setting, preferredRequired Licenses/Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire (obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required.Applicable state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required.Primary Responsibilities: Complete provider orders per state and provider regulations Perform accurate X-rays as ordered by the provider while practicing radiation safety precautions to include ALARAPrepare and transmit images to the radiologist for over-read, and report over-read results to providersRetrieve and archive radiographic reportsCreate/Burn CD’s in compliance with HIPAA regulationsPerform detailed and accurate data collection during clinical intake of patients to include taking and recording vital signs and patient historyAssist patients as needed with walking, transfer, specimen collection, exam prep, etc.Complete occupational health testing including such services as urine drug screens, breath alcohol testing, hair testing and physicalsComplete patient referrals and patient callbacks dailyProper, concise and complete EMR documentation and paper based documentation for all assessments and proceduresOther basic nursing duties as assigned such as new models of care and new types of procedures, etc.
