Summary:
Prepare patients for exams and transport patients to and from various modalities. Prepare rooms for procedures and process films and CD�s. Assist radiologists and technologists in procedures by moving patients and obtaining supplies and equipment. Optimize patient throughput by adjusting schedules retrieving protocols orders and requisitions from referring physicians.

Participates in department and interdepartmental quality improvement activities.
Demonstrates ability to identify patients following policy.
Assists physicians in locating images within RIS EMR and PAC�s Workstations.
Follows all MRI safety procedures.
Prepares patients for MRI CT or other Radiology exams by:
- Instructing patients on changing into gown/pants
- Explains procedure
- Set supplies needed by technologist
- Ask patients screening questions
- Scans in all paperwork to EMR
- Prepares and sets up room for procedures
- Assists technologists to set up sterile trays for procedure
- Assists technologists during procedure as needed and instructed including moving patients and obtaining supplies and equipment.
- Transports patients within the Diagnostic Imaging Department and to/from the Emergency Department or Floors if necessary.
Maintains cleanliness of radiological rooms and patient changing rooms.
Stocks women and men�s changing rooms daily.
Processes patient information in RIS system including verifying exams adding and canceling appropriate exam charges.
Ensures patient flow and throughput is consistent. When appointment time conflict employee remains in contact with patients.
Any other duties defined by the modality lead tech or manager.
Obtains protocols for patient�s GFR/Creatinine levels as necessary for CT/MRI examinations
Ensures patients are thoroughly screened for potential ferromagnetic objects prior to entering zone 3
Final safety check and wand patients entering zone 4
Follows all MRI safety procedures
Completion of Level I and II MR Safety Training
Performs other related functions as required.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Limited medical terminology and computer keyboard skills.
Current CPR certification patient care skills work history in medical field.
Must be able to stand/ squat1-3 hours and walk 3-7 hours frequent twisting and moderate bending and lift over 50 lbs with good body mechanics.
Must be able to use both hands/wrists and perform frequent fine motor skills with moderate repetitions.
Requires accurate near and far vision at 20/40 accurate depth perception and discriminate between red-green and blue-violet.
Must hear whisper at eight feet
