Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital offers comprehensive radiology services including diagnostics, nuclear imaging, interventional procedures and radiation oncology. Diagnostic imaging, such as ultrasound, X-ray, MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), and CT (computed tomography), help physicians diagnose or better understand certain conditions. Our experienced radiologists read and interpret images to offer additional diagnostic information to primary care or other referring physicians. 

 

A caregiver in this position works 7:00AM – 3:30PM or 8:00AM – 4:30PM.  

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Provide a wide variety of services and assistance to patients and visitors of all ages. 

Greet patients and families upon arrival at the radiology area.  

Escort patients to the appropriate room and assist patients with putting on a gown and moving on/off the table.  

Ensure physical comfort and safety of the patient at all times.  

Observe patients for medical status and potential need of nursing care, physician care, oxygen or other care and quickly obtain proper assistance. 

Review x-ray requisition and computer exam forms to determine the type of x-ray required. 

Place transport orders from radiology to floors and units.  

Process orders in the radiology information system, including scheduling, tracking exams and films.  

Process downtime and transport orders.  

Take films to the appropriate area for film library processing and deliver films to requesting areas.  

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

High school diploma or GED.  

One year of related experience in a physician office, hospital or clinical setting involving patient care or customer service.

Physical Requirements:

Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time; must lift and carry items weighting up to 50 pounds.

Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients, i.e., pushing beds, stretchers and wheelchairs.

Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
