Description

SHIFT: MON-THURS 8 AM-6:30 PM / FULL-TIME / 40 HOURS

LOCATION: EMORY DECATUR HOSPITAL

 

The primary responsibilities for the Radiology Assistant are to greet visitors, answer and screen incoming telephone calls by providing information or take messages and distribute them to appropriate employee; obtain necessary forms and information for exams and participate in unit based and hospital-wide Continuous Gives and / or receives information regarding patient schedule and information. 

 

The Radiology Assistant is expected to use specialized techniques and care in the transport of sick or convalescent persons, exercising special care to ensure the safety and comfort of patients in transit. Additionally, prepares rooms to receive patients, set up necessary equipment, ensure neatness and cleanliness of rooms and assist with preparing patients for procedures.  


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in a hospital setting preferred. People skills required.

Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required.
