Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Biostatistician. In this role, the successful candidate will work with the Radiology Research team on statistical analyses. A strong background in applied statistics is necessary to perform the types of complex analyses imaging data generally demands. The focus of this role will be on performing statistical analyses in a wide range of areas. The Biostatistician will work with research groups in clinical and basic science on study design, protocol development, statistical analysis, data interpretation, and manuscript preparation as directed by the clinical and research leadership teams.
Job Responsibilities:
• Be responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring new/existing databases, resolving database issues that
may be complex, optimizing performance for data extraction and analyses.
• Collaborate with investigators on study design and statistical plans for grants and pilot studies.
• Write statistical reports for clinical studies and manuscripts and assist with data requests.
• Consult with and train researchers in the use of R, SAS and other statistical software as well as statistical
methodology.
• Program statistical analyses, summarize results, conduct simulations, perform biostatistical literature review, and
assist research team in their everyday work
• Engage in data checking, summary, and manipulation in consultation with data managers, principal investigators,
biostatisticians, and other staff as needed.
• Develop, communicate, and carry out procedures designed to facilitate data analyses and interpretation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a masters or doctoral degree in statistics, biostatistics, or related quantitative area. At least 5 years of post-graduation experience.
Proficient in at least three of R, SAS, SPSS, M-Plus or STATA. Skills in descriptive analysis, modeling of data, study design and graphic interfaces.Outstanding ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects to ensure on-time delivery with meticulous quality.Ability to become well-versed with relevant medical and imaging concepts and terminology.Conduct statistical analyses for research manuscripts for publication.Conduct statistical power analyses for planning research projects.Advise PIs and research fellows on appropriate statistical methodology.Contribute to research design, methods, and results sections for research publications and grant applications.Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in biostatistics, statistics or related field, minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience.
Expert proficiency with the required job responsibilities.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $76,721.84 - $91,052.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
