Radiology Coordinator
Major Responsibilities: Functions as the coordinator of General Radiology and General Mammography.     1)Prepares technologist work schedules and approves any requested changes according to department staffing, and/or personnel needs with regard to week-ends, holidays, vacations, etc.     2)Responsible for adjustments to staffing assignments in the event of unscheduled staff shortages; determines need for float pool personnel utilization, as well as the need for overtime approval; maintains contact with the Operations Manager and/or Operations Director regarding staffing conditions and any adjustments necessary.     3)Provides verification of Time and Attendance records to maintain complete and accurate employee records.     4)Coordinates and oversees training of new employees according to department orientation policies; responsible for evaluation and/or verification of employee competency; participates in formal and informal training programs given to staff; instructs and demonstrates specific techniques, positioning and equipment use.     5)Counsels, disciplines, and reviews employees with approval of Operations Manager and/or Operations Director; incumbent signs off as the immediate supervisor of employees within this work setting.     6)Attends monthly Center Operations Meetings, and provides input regarding department operations.     7)Oversees support staff and ensures proper completion of their duties.     8)Coordinates the request for film and pulling, filing and copying of film and reports.     9)Demonstrates courteous behavior through polite and respectful communication with all associates and customers. Consistently maintains an attitude of professionalism and cooperation. Recognizes when others are in need of assistance and consistently offers to help when possible. Ensures patients receive high quality of care including high quality radiographs and/or mammography are completed.     1)Performs general radiology exams.     2)Monitors equipment failures; trouble shoots and repairs minor equipment failures; determines need for supportive service calls; contacts appropriate personnel and/or service representatives; maintains communication with service personnel to keep abreast of equipment downtime status; coordinates needed preventive maintenance repairs, and makes schedule adjustments as necessary.     3)Participate in assessment of own learning needs and actively seeks opportunity for professional growth. Ensures maximum work output of department.     1)Development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and laws.     2)Prepares and submits incident reports as needed to ensure continuous safety and quality patient care standards according to department and hospital policies and procedures; participates in formal and informal staff training and education regarding continuous safety and quality patient care.     3)Ensures proper charging of contrast media and supplies on a daily basis.     4)Acts as initial contact person for patient, visitors, physicians and/or staff with concerns, complaints or dissatisfaction; forwards all patient comments to Operations Manager and/or Operations Director for additional follow up; makes any immediate corrections as appropriate to satisfy customer needs and documents same for Operation Manager’s review.     5)Maintains proper inventory of department supplies and report need to Administrative Assistant.     6)With the assistance, and under the direction of the Director of Radiology, develops and maintains a Quality Assurance Plan.

Education/Experience Required:-3-5 years experience in related field -Associate or Certificate of Radiology Technology -Post supervisory exp. preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:-Good communications skills -Good interpersonal skills -Good customer relations ARRT Registration IDNS License CPR Certification

Physicial Requirements and Working Conditions: Knowledge of all areas of the department. May be exposed to radiation during procedures and stand for long periods while wearing a lead apron. May be required to lift and move patient. May be exposed to hazardous material and infectious diseased. If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
