Radiology Improvement and Standards Coordinator Full Time Days

Summary Description

Under the general supervision of the system radiology leadership and in conjunction with the chief for the specialty service, coordinates the business operation of the division.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, data analysis and reporting. Researches, gathers, analyzes and disseminates information to assist the radiology management team in informational and statistical reporting. Maintains RIS order catalog for all departments that utilize RIS. Creates, inactivates, maintains and reviews charge masters for all the imaging management system.

Designated IT radiology point person for testing, review and approval of radiology enhancement requests.
Assist in coordinating system initiatives for process improvements such as billing compliance, on-line scheduling, system forms, new patient curriculum and staff educational tools. Assists in developing service line standardization, including policies, procedures and forms. Collects, analyzes and reports statistical data.

Participates in auditing system response to all governing bodies. May serve as a Radiology representative for system meetings or other duties as assigned.

Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, JC requirements and DMC policies. As directed, implements external and internal audit recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Associates degree in a related technical or administrative discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer science / information systems experience preferred
2. Two or more years of progressively responsible technical experience with EMR or Radiology Information Systems.
3. Two or more years work experience in the medical field preferred..

Skills Required

1. Analytical ability to gather and interpret data, to identify discrepancies, problems or issues, to obtain advice when precedents are unclear or unavailable and to determine methods for ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
2. Communication and/or interpersonal skills for contact with internal and external customers/stakeholders to discuss and interpret technical information and department or function policy. Some discretion must be exercised in deciding what and how to communicate. Conflict resolution skills are exercised within the unit or function and occasionally on an interdepartmental or inter-functional basis. Diplomacy, tact and listening skills are required. Ability to read and comprehend policies and interpret technical materials in the specialty area is necessary.
3. Project management and organizational skills including the ability to accomplish goals and objectives in a resourceful yet timely manner.
4. Technical knowledge of diagnostic imaging services.
