Job Description Summary:

<h2><b>Overview</b></h2><div><div><div><p>Responsible for the management of Radiology personnel, technical operations, development of policies and procedures, and Radiology budget development and administration. Completion of a Two year accredited AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program. Two (2) years of experience in a management position would be required. Under the general supervision of the Administrator, responsible for managing personnel and the operation of the Radiology department 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The employee is subject to call back as required by the hospital. Under the direction of the Radiologist, responsible for assisting when necessary with all diagnostic procedures which are related to the following: a. Ultrasound b. Diagnostic X-Ray c. CT Scan d. Mammography</p></div></div></div>

Responsibilities

Assists when necessary with imaging exams, patient transportation, secretarial duties, PAC/RIS operations, and patient preps or instructions.
Under the direction of the radiologist, the director will do the following: a.
Recommends action in regards to planning and purchasing of new equipment, maintenance of existing equipment and advice regarding new construction within the department.
b.
Maintains radiology department.
c.
Represents the radiology department of administrative conferences.
d.
Develop and maintain programs such as quality control, PI, safety, continued education, and in-services, etc.
Approves, monitors and evaluates work, counsels, disciplines, recommends salary adjustments, employment and discharge for all radiology personnel.
Responsible for radiology personnel work schedules including scheduling holidays and vacation time.
Assist department directors with programs such as PI in the overall performance of the medical facility.
Promotes and develops a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the department.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Two years of accredited AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program.
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION: Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
EXPERIENCE: Proficiency in all areas of Radiology procedures, Quality assurance, safety standards and knowledge of management as normally acquired through five (5) years of experience in Radiology. Two (2) years of experience in a management position would be desired.
