The radiology patient access rep performs a wide variety of detail oriented duties in the process of arriving and registering patients in the radiology dept. May be called upon to schedule patient appointments. Uses independent judgment, ingenuity and is self-motivated. The duties require knowledge of procedures and policies related to the Radiology Department and functions as a team player. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and demonstrate the ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands. Must have excellent customer service skills with both internal and external customers. Schedules appointments for imaging and other procedures as assigned. Checks for payers’ prior-authorization requirements, validates active coverage. Manages incoming phone calls in a positive professional manner.
1 year experience in medical or customer service working environment, radiology experience preferred. Medical Terminology Nextbar, Evicore and Meditech experience preferred.
