JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient management of the daily operations of the c arm and portable cases in surgery. This includes providing patients with diagnostic radiologic testing, and the proper management of workflow to ensure that all patients receive the best care possible while assisting the surgeon’s needs. Assuring the equipment is in working order and cleaned/maintained at all times is the responsibility of the Radiology Surgery Technologist at all times, keeping the Tech IV and the Manager of Radiology informed of any issues.
ResponsibilitiesPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
When assigned to work in surgical room or MASC outpatient, performs radiologic procedures with all xray equipment including C-ARMS and Portable units when requested by a physician. Keep current through the day with the workflow and communications with surgery lead, keeping an eye on the surgery schedule board. Work the Department Radiology floor when not busy in Surgery/MASC.Takes necessary call to assure coverage for surgery cases throughout the year.Keeps current annual competencies and licensure necessary to work in Radiology. QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Demonstrated clinical competency in the field of Radiology/C arm exams.A high degree of independent action and exercise of judgment is a must, along with a creative ability to work under high pressure and ability to professionally handle stressful situations.Ability to be flexible and handle special requests and projects.Ability to take orders and act on the orders.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Associates Degree in Radiology required.5 years of imaging related experience preferred.Radiology School with clinical work experience and a successful track record in the Radiology Xray field is required.
ARRT (R) Certification required.
BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required.
INDIANA RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST LICENSE required.
