Radiology Tech
The Radiologist Technologist is responsible for the maintenance and quality of patient care on a continuing basis for the Diagnostic Radiology department and throughout the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Produce a variety of high quality radiographs through proper positioning and technique + Administer contrast media using proper technique and according to department policy + Utilize assigned functions with the Radiology Information System to complete paperwork and to document contrast media reactions + Utilize the hospital computer system to enter radiology and laboratory orders, charges, and/or credits + Review patient’s chart for confirmation of physician's orders and follows written and/or verbal protocols and instructions + Follow department, NRC, and State policies and regulations for radiation safety to keep exposure "ALARA" + Educate the patient, and family when necessary, regarding the exam, treatment, and outcome + Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel + Communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to appropriate supervisor + Perform procedures as the schedule requires and rotate call + Perform other duties as assigned Summary of Other Job Duties and Expectations + Adhere to the Service Excellence Standards and Expectations at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center + Exhibit excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers + Exhibit courteous communication skills and an ability to work with others, exercising good judgment in performance of job duties + Demonstrate courtesy, compassion, and respect to others in adherence of the hospital's philosophy and policy for promoting positive workplace and customer environments + Work as a team to continuously improve work quality. + Confirm patient identification prior to procedure by verbal confirmation on outpatients and identification band on in-patients + Attend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-services + Present self in a positive manner as reflected by personal attire and etiquette + Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling, when necessary, to ensure patient care Supervisory Responsibilities Reports to: The Operations Manager, though may also receive work from Radiologists, the Administrative Director of Radiology, and the Senior and Clinical Leads Supervises: None Responsibilities: N/A Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology Preferred Education: N/A Experience: Previous experience as a registered technologist is preferred, but will accept a new graduate Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Applicants must be ARRT registered or registry eligible; applicants who are registry eligible must be registered within three months of employment. Must be BLS certified.
