The Radiologist Technologist is responsible for the maintenance and quality of patient care on a continuing basis for the Diagnostic Radiology department and throughout the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Produce a variety of high quality radiographs through proper positioning and technique
+ Administer contrast media using proper technique and according to department policy
+ Utilize assigned functions with the Radiology Information System to complete paperwork and to document contrast media reactions
+ Utilize the hospital computer system to enter radiology and laboratory orders, charges, and/or credits
+ Review patient’s chart for confirmation of physician's orders and follows written and/or verbal protocols and instructions
+ Follow department, NRC, and State policies and regulations for radiation safety to keep exposure "ALARA"
+ Educate the patient, and family when necessary, regarding the exam, treatment, and outcome
+ Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel
+ Communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to appropriate supervisor
+ Perform procedures as the schedule requires and rotate call
+ Perform other duties as assigned

+ Confirm patient identification prior to procedure by verbal confirmation on outpatients and identification band on in-patients

+ Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling, when necessary, to ensure patient care
Supervisory Responsibilities
Reports to: The Operations Manager, though may also receive work from Radiologists, the Administrative Director of Radiology, and the Senior and Clinical Leads

Education and Experience
Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology
Preferred Education: N/A
Experience: Previous experience as a registered technologist is preferred, but will accept a new graduate
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Applicants must be ARRT registered or registry eligible; applicants who are registry eligible must be registered within three months of employment. Must be BLS certified.
