Radiology Tech Assistant


The Radiology Tech Assistant assists the technologists within their assigned area with tasks that expedite the completion of the daily workload according to established policies, procedures, and time schedules. The position assists other staff members upon request.

This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent required College-level Anatomy and Physiology course as well as a medical terminology course within one year of hire

 

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer

 

EXPERIENCE:

Must be adept at computer operations and able to quickly learn new programs Previous experience in medical practices, specifically radiology, preferred PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Demonstrates the technical competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires the ability to position patients and utilizing good body mechanics. This position also requires lifting and pulling patients in wheelchairs, beds, or stretchers.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

 

This position reports to the Senior Technologist of assigned work area.
