To learn more visit https://www.doctorshosplaredo.com JOB SUMMARY: Assists Cardiologist in performing Diagnostic and interventional procedures; Performs quality control procedures as required by the manufacture; Evaluates all orders, verifies them with cardiologist and ensures proper lab results and history for contraindications if applicable. Familiarized with various interventional equipment and wires to assist the cardiologist. Responsible for interacting with hospital staff and/or nursing departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts by identifying and assisting in the resolutions. Responsible and accountable for maintaining performance skills. Routinely works weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on an on-call/call-back status, when needed. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Operates all imaging equipment including radiographic and fluoroscopic room, C-arm and other equipment associated with cardiac cath lab. Completes and properly documents all worked performed and maintains department equipment ready for use. Scrubs and assists in all procedures performed in the cath lab. Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the cardiac cath lab team are met. Assists nursing personal with transportation and care of patients. Prepping and monitoring a patient during cardiovascular imaging and invasive heart procedures. Reviewing medical history, positioning patients, and cleaning/shaving/numbing testing sites as appropriate. Interpreting, describing, and reporting test results; recognizing recording errors and artifacts and reacting appropriately. Assisting physicians during non-evasive cardiological procedures by monitoring the patients' heart rates and alerting the physicians to any readings outside normal ranges. Maintaining cardiological equipment and supplies with daily cleanings and adjustments. Recording supply inventory levels and restocking the supply storeroom accordingly. Troubleshooting problems with cardiological equipment and reporting any malfunctions to superiors. Proven ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment. Solid knowledge of professional medical standards, policies, and procedures as well as federal, state, and local requirements. Proven teamwork mentality and ability to collaborate with co-workers. Excellent bedside manner and interpersonal skills. Exceptional attention to detail and solid problem-solving skills. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 2 years prior Special Procedure and/or Radiographer experience preferred. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to DHL Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer. EDUCATION / LICENSURE: Graduate from an approved school in Radiologic Technology. Currently licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) in the State of Texas Current ARRT Licensure Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as an (RCIS) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist preferred Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) preferred. Current certification in Interventional Angiography preferred. Vascular Access Board certification. (VA-BC) preferred Must have and maintain current BLS. ACLS certification required (or obtained within six months of employment). EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE Interventional Angiography Trained in Interventional Angiography. Able to operate a power injector. Able to assist cardiologist in performing procedures to various parts of the body from head to lower extremities. Familiarized with contraindications for contrast. Able to utilize critical thinking to ensure the proper procedure is being performed.
