**Employment Type:** Part time **Shift:** Rotating Shift **Description:** **POSITION PURPOSE:** The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with hospital and departmental standards and policies. Strives to provide individualized patient care. Abides by ALARA to protect patients from excessive radiation. Complies with ALARA standards, “As Low As Reasonably Achievable”. + Presents a positive hospital image and exhibits excellent customer service to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with MercyOne Elkader Medical Center’s Mission Statement. + Works flexible hours, including standby on-call hours, weekends, and Holidays. + Reviews providers’ orders and assists providers and nurses with radiology-based questions. + Transports patients without harm, utilizing proper body mechanics and ensuring the safety of patients and staff. + Demonstrates skill in the use of radiographic equipment and the ability to set technical factors. Assists with care and maintenance of imaging equipment. + Demonstrates skill in properly positioning patients and performing radiology procedures. Assists Radiologist during fluoroscopy and other radiologic procedures. + Evaluates imaging for appropriate positioning and proper technical factors. Ensures imaging includes all pertinent anatomy. + Professionally communicates with patients and staff. Assists with scheduling appointments, verifying patient identification, discussing patient preparation, explaining procedure, obtaining personal medical history and answering any patient questions. + Aids in cleaning and stocking of exam rooms. Demonstrates correct disposal of linens, sharps, and used supplies. + Works proficiently as an individual or team to complete tasks that contribute to the overall operation of the department. Sets priorities using time efficiently to allow for scheduled and emergent exams. Performs duties without undue reminders or supervision. Consistently and accurately completes tasks while using critical thinking and problem-solving skills. + Demonstrates competency in basic computer functions, PACS applications, and Cerner applications and tasks. + Establishes and works toward yearly individual goals and objectives. Successfully completes the minimum 24.0 hours of CEU’s every 2 years required by ARRT. Attends mandatory annual training required by MercyOne Elkader Medical Center. + Participates in orientation of new staff and attends radiology staff meetings. + Abides by MercyOne Elkader Medical Center policies and procedures and is proficient with RCI’s Protocols. + Participates in MercyOne Elkader Medical Center quality initiatives and hospital committees as delegated. + Willingness to learn CT and Mammography procedures. + Performs additional duties as assigned by the Radiology Manager. **What we are looking for:** + Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology. + Registered in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). + Holds current “Permit to Practice” through the State of Iowa. + Current CPR certification. **MercyOne Eastern Iowa** provides exceptional, personalized care to Dubuque, Dyersville, Elkader, Clinton and surrounding areas providing more than 300 licensed beds.
