Radiology Technologist

166-bed full-service hospital
Travel Contract:
13 weeks w/ high chance of extension
Schedule:
Sat/Sun11:00pm - 7:30am(PST) and Tuesday to Thurs 7:00am - 3:30pm(PST)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Performs all radiologic procedures which are offered by the department, following exam protocols on neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients
+ Completes paperwork and computer related duties
+ Analyzes scans, interprets results, and discusses results with patients
+ Assists radiologists, staff physicians, nursing, and hospital personnel with radiological services
+ Maintains department facilities, equipment, and materials in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort, and safety of patients and staff
+ Checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular daily basis and per facility protocol
+ Keeps supplies current, clean and replenished
+ Processes film, evaluates for technical quality and ensures accurate patient identification and side labeling
+ Greets patients, verifies patient identification and physician orders
+ Obtains, correlates and documents clinical history prior to the start of examination
+ Transports patients and informs nursing units of patients’ departure and arrival
+ Holds medical and other sensitive information in confidence
+ Knowledge of radiation safety measures and protection to comply with government regulations
+ Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
+ Experience: One (1) year of full-time, or its equivalent, experience performing diagnostic imaging procedures with at least six (6) months in an acute care hospital
+ Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) ,
+ American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
+ Valid Fluoroscopy Permit
The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic procedures and activities to create detailed diagnostic images that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. The Radiology Technologist collaborates with members of the radiology and health care team to promote total patient care.

Minimum Requirements:
+ High School diploma or its equivalent certification
+ Certificate, Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Radiology Technology if required by state/contract
+ Current ARRT license preferred
+ State specific licensure if required by state/contract
+ One-year relevant experience as a radiology technologist preferred
+ Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
+ Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
+ Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
+ Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
+ Computer proficiency required
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
