As a Radiology Technologist I, you will be responsible for performing all diagnostic X-ray examinations, not requiring constant supervision of technical details, with a comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, radiographic techniques, and positioning.
This is not a remote position, this position is strictly onsite.
Primary Responsibilities:
Performs radiology procedures under the guidelines written in the Radiology Policy and Procedure Manual Adheres to all safety guidelines such as wearing a personal dosimetry monitoring device during all working hours and standing behind protective barriers during production of x-rays Follows standing orders and repeat imaging policies Is responsible for knowing exams ordered and radiologist protocol for that exam, including but not limited to proper positioning, proper shielding of the patient, and technique needed to ensure diagnostic quality images while minimizing patient exposure Reviews schedules at least 24-48 hours in advance Verifies appropriate time frame for procedure (example: date from previous mammo, return instructions, etc.) Verifies correct order in place for procedure, seeks clarification from ordering provider. Verifies appropriate time allotment for scheduled procedure Confirms appointment Greets patient and visitors with warm, friendly greeting Asks patient to identify themselves using at least two unique identifiers prior to the procedure Conducts infectious screening process and provides mask for symptomatic patients. Dons appropriate PPE. Adheres to infection control policies regarding disinfection processes. Provides clear verbal instructions to the patient regarding exam preparation, positioning and follow up Provides clean gown and instructions for proper application for procedure. Maintains patient dignity throughout procedures Verifies pregnancy status and consent prior to radiation exposure. Refers patient to Urgent Care for point of care testing in accordance with standing orders policies Assists patients as needed throughout procedure. Provides proper instructions for patient to return to clinic if indicated or in exiting the building. Conducts warm send off Reschedules appointments as indicated with approval of Radiology Manager or Clinical Operations Manager Handles all radiology equipment carefully to maintain performance and longevity. Performs daily calibration and Q.C. tests as required by the manufacturer. Accurately logs quality controls and calibrations Identifies areas of concern on images. Notifies Radiology Technician and/or ordering provider as indicated. Routes images performed to the radiologist for interpretation throughout the day Communicates service needs to supervisor and facilitates communication with service providers if needed If certified in Mammography, adheres to the Mammography Procedure Manual and performs all mammograms under written guidelines Is responsible for reviewing all procedure manuals and other required reference materials and to know where these manuals are located Disinfects exam rooms, changing rooms, waiting area and equipment after each procedure. Logs disinfection process daily Conducts monthly inventories of supplies. Discards items prior to expiration dates. Correctly completes and verifies Date Open labels on cleaning products, hand sanitizers, etc. Conducts Lead Apron testing annually. Logs date and results Actively participates in department huddles, department meetings, Safety Meetings, Clinical meetings, etc. Seeks proactive resolutions Works collaboratively with team, clinical department staff and providers to accommodate services Works collaboratively with department team members to ensure adequate coverage throughout day. Communicates concerns to supervisor Maintains all licenses and CME requirements. Completes all required learning activities in a timely manner prior to due dates Maintains safe work environment. Reports safety concerns to Manager and Safety Officer. Maintains positive, professional respectful behavior with all individuals (patients, caregivers, team members, interdepartmental staff, managers and clinicians). Adheres to policies regarding social media, breaks, attendance, tardies, uniform, food in work place, infection control, personal business, etc.

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience Graduate of AMA-approved Radiological Technology School CRT certification in Radiology and Fluoroscopy with the State of California Department of Public Health/Radiologic Health Branch Current ARRT certificationPreferred Qualifications:
Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (AHA) 2+ years of experience working in radiology
California Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $23.22 to $45.43 per hour.
