· AdventHealth Kissimmee is a 242-bed community-focused hospital

· Conveniently located near Walt Disney World

· The team is here is dedicated to bringing mission-focused, faith-based care to residents and visitors of Osceola and Orange Counties

· AdventHealth Kissimmee has recently expanded our existing tower by 3-floors and 80-beds, including new ancillary spaces such as Inpatient Rehab, Inpatient Dialysis, Laboratory, and Imaging services.

The role you’ll contribute: The Technologist Assistant, under supervision, is responsible for aiding the Technologist with various procedures. Provides assistance to both customers and partners to ensure a smooth and efficient operation. Aids customers to ensure service levels are maintained. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

Assists technologists with exams, processes and cleans cassettes, and ensures rooms are stocked with adequate supplies.

Uses functions of computer system, office equipment and PACS system.

Sets up Imaging equipment. Utilizes their knowledge and skills acquired for age-specific factors necessary to perform safe and effective procedures on patients of all ages (neonate/infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatrics). Acquires knowledge and skills through formal training in an approved school, in-service, continuing education and/or experience. Learns and adapts to new technologies and protocols and helps develop the knowledge and competency of coworkers and students.

Answers phones using scripted greeting.

Transports patients to and from Imaging exam rooms, assists patients on and off exam tables, and transports patients to or from their hospital room when requested.

Identifies safety issues, intervenes and notifies supervisor. Operates equipment in a safe manner and adheres to all infection control standards. May transport pharmaceutical waste from the point of generation to a designated secure storage area. Employee will be required to complete initial training (prior to handling pharmaceutical waste) to include proper handling and transport of pharmaceutical waste, and proper selection, use and disposal of personal protective equipment.

Maintains knowledge and understanding of the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

Consistently attends department meetings and other meetings as assigned by supervisor.

Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

Minimum Requirements:

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Ability to communicate effectively

Ability to work with people of various diversities

Ability to work with patients of all ages

Preferred Requirements:

Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Basic computer skills

High school diploma or equivalent
