Radiology Technologist Care Guide
Overview This is a PRN position Expected pay for this position is $27.26 - $35.68/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. POSITION SUMMARY: The Radiology Technologist Care Guide is responsible for patient registration, collecting payments, rooming, assisting the provider with care and treatment, preparing patients for radiologic procedures, performing x-rays, discharging, and following up with patients. It is the role of the Care Guide to companion patients and their secondary guests through the entire experience to maximize clinical excellence, reduce treatment times, and maximize the patient experience; before, during, and after the patient visit. The Care Guide is responsible for assisting the provider with front office and back office duties in the outpatient management of patients on a rotating basis. This position is a vital part of the office team that cares for patients in the clinic setting, working closely with the provider and other clinical staff. Acting as the patient advocate, the Care Guide has continuous contact with providers, patients, patient families' significant others, community agencies, and patient care staff and management. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: - Associates Completion of a formal Radiography program with associated certificate or degree License/Certifications: - Licensed with IEMA. - American Heart Association (BLS for Health Care Providers) completed within 2 weeks of hire. - ARRt (R) registry eligible. - Must complete ARRT registry within 6 months of hire. Other skills/knowledge: - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Other licenses/Certifications: - American Heart Assosciation (BLS for Health Care Providers) Other requirements/information: - Previous experience as a medical office assistant or CNA or equivalent, previous experience with an electronic health record and phlebotomy. - Knowledge of urgent care medical specialty - Knowledge of medical terminology - Knowledge of Epic Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data; discretion, good judgment; diplomacy; decision making; and a customer service attitude.
