Position Objective:

The Lead Radiology Technologist provides leadership to X-Ray Techs by scheduling work; providing training to staff, including orientation of new staff; assisting leadership with feedback for staff performance evaluations; providing counseling to staff and recommending appropriate disciplinary action to leadership; and reviewing the work of staff. 

Performs routine radiographic procedures in accordance with established safety and quality standards and the special needs of the patient.

Assists the Practice Supervisor with coordination of the Radiology Technologists staff and students to include: interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, coaching, disciplinary action, performance reviews, developmental goals, department metrics/dashboard and competency evaluations.  Assists the Practice Supervisor with maintaining regulatory compliance including proficiency testing, preventative maintenance, test validation, and inspections to ensure the department is always inspection-ready.Assists the Practice Supervisor with payroll, continuing education, weekly schedules, and other employee records in accordance with AAMC and department standards.  As well as ordering supplies and ensuring proper inventories are being met in all offices/rooms. Leads Radiology Technologist Staff in the absence of Practice Supervisor.Assists the management team with office coverage being a point of contact for any department staff member in your designated office. Serves as a point of contact for patient inquiries in that office. Assists supervisor in communicating policies, procedures, and directives; assists team members with questions regarding procedures, policies, and directives. Serves as a positive bridge between management and staffPerforms all job duties and requirements listed in the job description of a Radiology Technologist.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

Successful completion of a two-year radiological technology program in AMA approved educational institution.

Required License/Certifications:

Current certification in diagnostic radiography by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) required.

Licensed in the State of Maryland
