Radiology Technologist-Ri
POSITION PURPOSE Performs routine and minor special radiographic procedures in accordance with departmental/hospital policies and procedures. Operates auxiliary equipment including, but not limited to: cameras, recorders and processors. Administers contrast materials as dictated by exam protocols. Assists with the coverage of the department and ancillary areas 24 hours a day, seven (7) days per week. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED Associate Degree: Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited certification program in Radiologic Technology MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Radiology Technologist: Entry Level LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED Licensure to be eligible to practice as a Licensed Radiographer in the State of Wisconsin. American Registry or Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T) registered.  Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED Comprehensive knowledge of stationary and mobile radiographic and ancillary equipment. Thorough knowledge of routine and minor special procedures. Ability to read, write, hear, speak and comprehend the English language fluently. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES Operates all radiographic and ancillary equipment associated with the performance or routine and minor special radiographic procedures, including bedside and surgical examination; responsible for radiation safety: has the ability to recognize and report equipment malfunctions. Utilizes proper radiographic and positioning techniques in order to maximize radiographic quality and to minimize repeat images. Must be able to move patients on stretchers, in wheelchairs and on radiographic tables. Must appropriately label radiographs, record pertinent clinical information and identify trauma sites. Assists radiologist and other physicians with fluoroscopic and other “special” procedures; exam room is set up according to department/ physician protocols. Sterile technique is required. Must assists with departmental coverage at one or more satellite facilities; weekend; holiday and on-call coverage is required. Accessing, entering and retrieving information form MIS is required. Receives and records verbal orders from licensed independent practitioners for orders that are specific to the services provided by their department. Administers medications in a timely manner, safely and in accordance with policy and procedure.
